As for the “strawman’s argument”, maybe there are exceptions, but I observe the trend that generalists are more in demand in the job market nowadays.

What do you mean by “you don’t need to invent false positions”? If you refer to the metaphor in the beginning, well, that’s your point. Not all the people like the metaphors.
